Arsenal have reportedly got a deal over the line for Benfica left-back Nuno Tavares.
The Gunners have been tipped to bolster their ranks at left-back this term, with Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac the only two recognised players in that role, although the latter is expected to leave.
Mikel Arteta's side are supposedly prepared to pay Benfica £6.8m for Tavares, who briefly featured for the Portuguese side against Arsenal in last season's Europa League.
Now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the defender has now put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the North London club, with an announcement expected imminently.
Romano shared a photo on Twitter of Tavares with his agents on a private jet following the signing, and the 21-year-old is set to become Arsenal's first arrival of the summer transfer window.
The Portuguese leaves Benfica after scoring one goal and assisting seven more in 41 appearances since arriving as a teenager in 2015.
