Manchester City and Arsenal have reportedly missed out on signing defender Dani Alves.
Having been released at the end of his Paris Saint-Germain contract, Alves is available on a free transfer, which has ultimately led to interest from the Premier League.
Both City and Arsenal have been linked with an approach for the Brazil international, despite the right-back having just turned 36 years of age.
However, according to Goal.com, Alves has been provided with the opportunity to sign for Sao Paulo, the club which he supported during his childhood.
The report adds that Alves, who is ready to take a pay-cut, will finalise the transfer once he has finished a vacation in his homeland.
