Mikel Arteta 'not worried' about Arsenal sack speculation

Mikel Arteta acknowledges that he will not be Arsenal boss forever as he responds to speculation over his uncertain future at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta has insisted that he 'never worries' about talk surrounding his future as he knows that he will either be sacked by Arsenal or step aside at one point.

The Spaniard is under increasing pressure following a run of one win in six matches in the Premier League, including three home losses in a row, leaving the Gunners down in 14th place.

Arteta has struggled to get the most out of his attacking players, with no team outside of the relegation zone scoring fewer than Arsenal's 10 goals.

However, the 38-year-old is unfazed about talk that he could be sacked as he approaches the one-year anniversary of his appointment.

"It's something that the day I decided to be a coach I know that one day I will be sacked or leave the football club," he told reporters.

"I don't know if it's the day after I sign my contract, in a month's time, a year's time, or six months' time. I never worry about it.

"My only concern is to get the best out of the players, give the best possible service to the club and become better and better.

"I know, I repeat, in this profession, one day I will get the sack or leave but I don't know when that is going to happen."

Arsenal return to action on Thursday with a home match against Rapid Vienna in the Europa League.
