How Arsenal could line up against Southampton

Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up in Thursday's Premier League clash with Southampton.

Arsenal will be looking to quickly bounce back from their latest disappointment when they travel to Southampton on Thursday evening.

The Gunners suffered a 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, three days on from losing soundly away at Manchester City.

On the back of widespread criticism for their displays since the Premier League resumed last week, the pressure is on Mikel Arteta's men for this latest trip to the South Coast.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up at St Mary's Stadium.

As well as losing back-to-back matches since the restart, Arsenal have also lost some key players to injury.

Bernd Leno was stretchered off against Brighton and will play no further part this season, while Pablo Mari and Granit Xhaka are also out for the foreseeable future.

With David Luiz serving the second of his two-match ban, Arteta has limited options at centre-back and is expected to partner Rob Holding with Shkodran Mustafi again.

Matteo Guendouzi avoided retrospective action for grabbing Neal Maupay by the throat at the weekend and is likely to start in central midfield on Thursday.

Elsewhere, Alexandre Lacazette failed to impress against Brighton and will likely drop down to the bench, while Mesut Ozil is pushing for a recall for this clash.
