Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been boosted by the returns of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to Manchester City.

The two strikers have both recovered from COVID-19 and notched up four goals between them in Wednesday's EFL Cup thrashing of West Bromwich Albion, but there may only be room for Aubameyang in the first XI here.

With Martin Odegaard now ready to make his second Premier League debut for the Gunners, Emile Smith Rowe could be pushed out to the left while Aubameyang leads the line, and Bukayo Saka will certainly start if he can shake off a knee scare in time.

Eddie Nketiah and Willian remain out but are being tipped to leave before the transfer window closes, while Granit Xhaka will continue to man the midfield after confirming his contract extension earlier this week.

Mohamed Elneny was given a run-out in midweek but is set to make way for Albert Sambi Lokonga here, while Thomas Partey is not expected to return from his ankle problem before the international break.

Arteta was pessimistic over Ben White's chances of recovering from COVID-19 in time to feature this week, so Pablo Mari and Rob Holding should form the centre-back pairing as Gabriel Magalhaes continues to work his way back from a knee injury.

Aaron Ramsdale kept a clean sheet on his first Arsenal start in midweek but is expected to drop out for the returning Bernd Leno, while Kieran Tierney should be fit enough to feature at left-back despite an injury scare against Chelsea.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Leno; Cedric, Holding, Mari, Tierney; Xhaka, Lokonga; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Aubameyang
