Sports Mole takes a look at who impressed during this afternoon's North London derby, which saw Arsenal come from behind to draw with Spurs at the Emirates.

Arsenal were forced to come from behind to rescue a draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the first North London derby of the season this afternoon.

Nacer Chadli gave the visitors the lead with a cool finish 10 minutes into the second half, but that was cancelled out by an emphatic Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain strike 15 minutes from time to ensure that the spoils were shared.

Here, Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at who impressed during an entertaining encounter at the Emirates.

ARSENAL

Goal

Wojciech Szczesny: Was called upon a couple of times towards the end of the first half, but spent much of the match as a spectator. Could not do anything about Tottenham's goal. (6/10)

Defence

Calum Chambers: Grew into the match and became a real asset at both ends of the field by the end of it. Came close with one rasping drive that fizzed just over. (7/10)

Laurent Koscielny: Solid and composed performance from the French centre-back, who kept Adebayor quiet for the vast majority of the match. (7/10)

Per Mertesacker: Almost nodded past his own keeper from a corner, but was spared by some sharp reactions from Szczesny. Solid other than that, although he will have more testing afternoons this season. (6/10)

Kieran Gibbs: Like Chambers on the other side, grew into the match as the game progressed. Didn't quite have as much of an impact as Chambers, but still a decent enough display. (6/10)

Midfield

Aaron Ramsey: Could not make a huge impact during his time on the field, which was cut short by an injury shortly before half time. (6/10)

Mikel Arteta: Was also forced off early due to injury, lasting less than half an hour before limping off. (6/10)

Jack Wilshere: Combative performance in the middle of the park. Made a few bright runs and gave his side some much needed forward drive before being replaced just past the hour mark. (7/10)

Mesut Ozil: Failed to build on his performance last weekend despite spending plenty of time in a central role. Could not provide the spark or quality in the final third Arsenal needed - particularly in the first half. (5/10)

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: Took his goal well, slamming the ball into the top corner. Also provided a threat with his pace from open play, although his final ball was lacking on occasions. (7/10)

Attack

Danny Welbeck: Was the brightest player in the first half but faded a little after the break. Still provided a useful outlet up front, however, and gives Arsenal the threat of pace through the middle. (7/10)

Substitutes

Mathieu Flamini: Replaced the injured Arteta on the half-hour mark and was caught in possession for Tottenham's goal. (5/10)

Santi Cazorla: Came on for Ramsey just before the break and gave the Gunners more quality in the final third. One or two of his passes went astray, but he gave the hosts a greater threat going forward. (7/10)

Alexis Sanchez: Came on just past the hour mark and had a few bright moments without making a major impact on the game. (6/10)

TOTTENHAM

Goal

Hugo Lloris: Made a number of vital saves for his side, the best coming to deny Mertesacker in the second half. Could do nothing about the goal, but there would have been more than one without him in between the sticks. (7/10)

Defence

Kyle Naughton: Put in a fairly solid display on his return to the side. Had a few tricky moments as the match wore on and Arsenal pressure began to build, but a decent performance overall. (6/10)

Younes Kaboul: A captain's performance. Always seemed to be there to repel an Arsenal cross or attack, flinging himself in the way of everything to get it clear. A really commanding display. (8/10)

Jan Vertonghen: Joined Kaboul in making a number of crucial clearances with his side under heavy pressure. Had a couple of nervy moments dealing with Welbeck in the first half, but made up for that. (7/10)

Danny Rose: Didn't provide as much of an attacking threat as he usually does, largely down to Spurs spending most of the match on the back foot. Carried out his defensive duties well enough before limping off in the closing stages. (6/10)

Midfield

Etienne Capoue: Was the league's leading passer going into the match, but was forced to do most of his work off the ball this time around. Did a god job of protecting his back four on the whole, particularly in the first half when Arsenal were on top. (6/10)

Ryan Mason: Impressive Premier League debut in a tough environment. Did not seem daunted by the task and held his own alongside Capoue in the middle of the park. (6/10)

Christian Eriksen: Won the ball well to begin the move for Chadli's goal, but otherwise failed to have a great impact on the match. Was unable to pull the strings as he usually likes to do. (6/10)

Erik Lamela: More akin to his performances last season than the beginning of this one. Wasted a number of good attacking platforms with careless passes and wrong decisions. Did slip Chadli through for his goal, but that was a rare highlight in an otherwise poor performance. (5/10)

Nacer Chadli: Squandered a great chance towards the end of the first half but made up for it with a well-taken goal. Struggled to have an huge impact other than that, but it was a decisive contribution for his side. (7/10)

Attack

Emmanuel Adebayor: Spent the vast majority of the match as a spectator. Had a brief purple patch just before half time, but even then he spurned a good chance. Poor display from the former Arsenal man. (5/10)

Substitutes

Aaron Lennon: Came on for Eriksen just past the hour but struggled to really make an impact despite his pace against tiring legs. (6/10)

Nabil Bentaleb: Replaced Chadli with 10 minutes remaining and helped to plug any gaps that were appearing in midfield. A useful cameo. (6/10)

Eric Dier: Introduced in the 83rd minute for the injured Rose and made a couple of important clearances in the closing stages. (6/10)
