Arsenal legend Ian Wright says that he would welcome Sean Dyche to the Emirates as Arsene Wenger's replacement.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has claimed that he would accept Burnley boss Sean Dyche as Arsene Wenger's replacement as manager.

The Gunners have had Wenger at the helm of the club for the past two decades, winning three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups in that time.

Groups of fans called for the Frenchman to walk away from the Emirates last summer when his contract expired, but the 67-year-old ended up extending his stay by two years.

Dyche, who has been in charge of Burnley since 2012, has taken his team to sixth in the Premier League table after seven games this season, placing them one point beneath Arsenal.

Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I believe [Dyche] is somebody that needs to go, at some stage, to the next level."

When asked if he would welcome Dyche as Wenger's replacement, the retired striker said: "Yeah. The fact is, would they give Sean Dyche that job?

"In respect to how his team sets up when they're defending, he's obviously got acumen, but will he get a job like that? I don't think he will."

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last four league games.
