Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright insists that Arsene Wenger is responsible for the Gunners' struggles this season.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes that Arsene Wenger should leave the club unless he turns around his side's fortunes.

The Gunners have endured a disappointing seven days after they were defeated 1-0 by Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup, before they moved to the verge of elimination from the Champions League by losing 3-1 to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

Wright played under Wenger during his playing career, but he has insisted that the Frenchman's time at the Emirates Stadium is running out, suggesting Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup as a possible replacement.

The 49-year-old told The Sun: "Everything that is happening is down to the manager. "He is to blame.

"[Michael] Laudrup could, maybe, step in. I hate to see Arsenal in this situation but something has got to give at some stage. It cannot carry on like this."

Arsenal host Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday as they fight to qualify for a Champions League place.
