Arsenal's Jack Wilshere could miss the remainder of the season?

A report claims that Arsenal's Jack Wilshere could miss the remainder of the campaign with an ankle problem.

Jack Wilshere could reportedly miss the rest of the Premier League campaign with a recurrence of an ankle injury.

The Arsenal midfielder only returned to action in October of last year following a 16-month stint on the sidelines after he had undergone surgery to fix his fractured right ankle.

Upon his second arrival to the senior squad, the 21-year-old had featured on a regular basis for Arsene Wenger's side.

However, Wenger confirmed prior to last week's Champions League clash against Bayern Munich that Wilshere had suffered a knock on the same ankle.

While there has been no official word from the club, Wilshere will now spend the next six weeks receiving treatment, according to Goal.com.

That would mean that he would not be available for selection again until the beginning of May and the report went on to claim that Wenger could give his playmaker the remainder of the campaign off to ensure that he is fully fit for pre-season.
