Bacary Sagna is one of the Arsenal greats, according to manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsene Wenger has hailed Bacary Sagna as one of the best Arsenal fullbacks of all time.

The Gunners could be without the Frenchman for the trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night and Wenger says that Sagna is an important component of the Arsenal first team.

"I think [Sagna] is the best right back in the league and I believe that everybody at the club would share this opinion. Many people outside the club have this opinion as well," said Wenger.

"I must say with the right back position I have been quite lucky because we had of course Lee Dixon when I arrived, then Lauren, after that Bacary Sagna, and they have all been real winners and extremely consistent. On that front we were very lucky.

"They are real battlers, they are ready to die to win. All these players have been inspirational for everybody because their physical level, their commitment, intelligence, desire to win, it is all there."

Arsenal could open up a five-point gap between themselves and fourth-placed Spurs if they win at Molineux.
