Arsene Wenger says that he is pleased with the way his side responded to losing three Premier League games in a row, as they bounced back with a 3-0 win over Watford.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has talked up the spirit of his players after earning a "convincing" 3-0 win over Watford at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners took the lead early on through Shkodran Mustafi and, after surviving a couple of scary moments, went on to add two more goals to their tally in the second half through January signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Victory for Arsenal was their 700th under Wenger in the Frenchman's 1,222nd match at the helm, moving them within 12 points of fourth-placed Liverpool.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Wenger said: "I felt we had a very good first half, there was a regret that we couldn't take our chances. After that in the second half we suffered a bit because Watford put us under pressure at the start but we dealt well with the set pieces.

"Our spirit... we did stick together you know and could take advantage of weak moments they had defensively. In the end it was a convincing win.

"Did we move the ball more quickly? I think so. We lost a bit our legs in the second half, a few bad passes came in then when we lacked a bit of freshness."

Arsenal's final match before the two-week international break comes in the Europa League on Thursday night, as they welcome AC Milan to North London for the second leg of their last-16 tie.
