Arsene Wenger: 'Arsenal can bounce back very quickly'

Arsene Wenger insists that Arsenal can bounce back in the Premier League following a disappointing 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Manchester United.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is 'frustrated' not to have come away with at least a point from this evening's 2-1 defeat against Manchester United.

The Gunners failed to make their possession count at the Emirates Stadium and fell two goals behind in the second half, before returning striker Olivier Giroud salvaged some hope with a late goal off the bench.

It proved to be too little, too late, however, with United holding out for three points which see them climb above their opponents into fourth place in the Premier League table.

"It was one-way traffic and we lost the game, we have to take it on the chin," Wenger is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I know we'll be criticised for it but you have to respect the energy levels we put in.

"We paid for the slightest mistake and it's very frustrating to come away with nothing. We had the best chances and we could have finished better. At 1-0 we should have been more cautious not to give the second goal away.

"There was plenty of time to come back and that's where we made the mistake. In our job when you don't win, you're very concerned but there are a lot of positives in this team. If we can keep this going with the quality and the energy levels we have, we can bounce back very quickly."

Next up for Arsenal in the league is a trip to face West Bromwich Albion next weekend.
