Wales chiefs 'angry with Arsene Wenger' over Aaron Ramsey claims

Wales football chiefs reportedly claim that Arsene Wenger has shown them a lack of respect over comments regarding injured midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

Wales football chiefs have reportedly claimed that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has shown them a lack of respect over comments made about injured midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The 24-year-old featured in their Euro 2016 qualifier against Andorra last month, although Wenger is said to have felt that Wales boss Chris Coleman should have rested Ramsey after he sustained a hamstring problem a week later against Bayern Munich.

Ramsey now faces at least a month on the sidelines, but Wales chiefs are said to be annoyed that Wenger did not attempt to contact them.

According to The Sun, a source close to the Welsh setup has said: "Arsene said he spoke to Roy Hodgson about Theo Walcott's fitness before England played Lithuania but why didn't he do the same with Aaron?

"He claims he can't go ringing all the countries up — why can't he? They are Arsenal players! It shouldn't matter what country they play for. It comes across as a lack of respect to the smaller nations."

Wales had already qualified for Euro 2016 prior to the Andorra match.
