Jamie Vardy says that he is more than happy to still be a Leicester City player after turning down the chance to join Arsenal in a £20m deal last summer.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has once again stressed that he does not regret turning down the chance to join Arsenal last summer.

The England international was coming off the back of a memorable title-winning campaign with the Foxes when he was made the subject of a £20m bid by the Gunners.

Vardy and Leicester came crashing back down to earth last time out in a rather disappointing campaign, though the striker did improve upon Craig Shakespeare's appointment in February by scoring 10 goals in his final 17 outings.

Twelve months on from turning down the chance to join Arsenal, the 30-year-old insists that he is more than happy to continue his topsy-turvy journey with Leicester.

"I have no regrets whatsoever. I have made some great decisions in my life," The Mirror quotes him as saying. "Since I have been here we have had playoff heartache to winning the league, battling relegation to stay in the league to avoiding relegation to finish mid-table.

"Who knows? It might be another good season. We will have to wait and see what the club's plans are for where they want us finishing and we will be putting our all in to do that.

"Shakey has been brilliant. He literally leaves no stone unturned. He knows the night before what we are going to be doing the next day and everyone is putting 110 percent in for him."

Vardy is expected to start against Arsenal in Leicester's first game of the 2017-18 campaign on August 11.
