Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirms that Alexis Sanchez is in line to start against West Bromwich Albion.

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez could return to the starting lineup against West Bromwich Albion this weekend.

The Chile international missed the Gunners' last Premier League outing, a goalless draw with Chelsea, but played the full 90 minutes of the 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup.

Manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he is planning on handing a start to Sanchez when the Baggies visit the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

"For me he needs competition, that's why I left him on the pitch," the Frenchman told reporters.

"He should be ready [for West Brom]."

Sanchez was the subject of a failed bid from Manchester City before the summer transfer window closed.
