Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho declares that he has developed a deep respect for Arsene Wenger, insisting that there will be no repeat of past feuds next season.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he has buried any former feud with Arsene Wenger during a series of meetings over the past few years.

Mourinho repeatedly clashed with the Arsenal boss during his first tenure at Stamford Bridge, most infamously calling Wenger a "voyeur" in 2005.

The Portuguese tactician has declared that time has allowed him to gain perspective on his relationship with the Gunners manager, admiring his longevity and insisting that Wenger has his complete respect.

He told The Telegraph: "He's a nice guy, I respect him a lot and I will show my respect always. I wouldn't bet for one single problem between us. I have had a chance to meet him much, much better when I left England. I started meeting him at the Euros, the World Cup. We had dinner.

"When you are not in the same league and when you are not playing against each other, it is easier to know people, it is easier to go deeper. I enjoyed speaking with him about football. He is a person with a big culture, very open to give his opinion to things.

"Our last conversation was that I want to be here 17 years [at Chelsea], he has to teach me how. I respect him a lot and I have the feeling that he is the same in relation to me."

The two men will resume hostilities in the Premier League this season, with their first meeting scheduled for December 21 at the Emirates Stadium.
