Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirms that former captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will miss a third straight game due to his disciplinary breach.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not be considered for selection for Saturday's Premier League clash with Leeds United.

A disciplinary breach last week has seen the 32-year-old miss the last two games and be stripped of the Arsenal captaincy, raising questions over his future.

Aubameyang will now miss a third successive match due to the fallout, but Arteta believes that he made the right decision in taking the armband off the Gabon international.

"No he's not available for selection," Arteta told reporters.

"Every time that you are sitting here, you have some challenges. You have some brilliant moments and some moments when you have to make decisions.

"I am sitting here to try to make the right decisions every day. My only intention is that - to get the club in the best possible condition, to defend our players and get the best possible results on the pitch that we can.

"It's been challenging because those decisions are tough and not pleasant, but you have to do what you feel is right."

Arsenal have won their last two games by an aggregate score of 5-0, lifting themselves up to fourth in the Premier League table.
