Jack Wilshere: 'I'll play anywhere'

Jack Wilshere says that he does not mind being shifted out to a wide role for Arsenal if it helps the Gunners.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed that he has no problem being shifted out of position if it benefits the team.

Manager Arsene Wenger opted to deploy Wilshere, usually a centre-midfielder, in a wide role in Wednesday's 0-0 draw with Sunderland at the Emirates.

It was the 23-year-old's first start in six months following an ankle injury, but the England international does not mind testing his versatility.

"It's different. I have been playing in a defensive role for England, and in a more attacking central role for Arsenal," he told the club's official website.

"It is always good when you can play a number of positions, it gives the manager options and if someone is playing well in one position he knows you can fill in somewhere else. So I am happy."

Wilshere was included in the England squad for clashes with the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia next month.
