Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes that Arsenal's new signing Mesut Ozil will not be enough to make the North London outfit Premier League title challengers.
The Gunners secured the signature of the German international from Real Madrid for a club-record £42.5m fee on deadline day.
While Hamann believes that the midfielder will improve the team, the former Manchester City player is under no illusions that Ozil will push the Gunners to the top of the table.
"With the pace of [Theo] Walcott, the trickery of [Santi] Cazorla, the physicality of [Olivier] Giroud, [Ozil] will create a lot of chances for Arsenal and I think he's a top, top signing," Hamann told Goal.com.
"Whether it's enough for them to challenge for the title, I'm not too sure, but it certainly is a step in the right direction."
Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo admitted yesterday that he feels "angry" about the club's decision to let Ozil leave.
