Arsenal announce that midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong will be out of action for two months after undergoing knee surgery.

Arsenal have announced that midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong is expected to be on the sidelines for two months after undergoing knee surgery.

The 21-year-old was forced to have the operation following an injury he sustained while on loan at Fulham during their 3-0 win over Swansea City on the final day of the season.

Frimpong wrote on Twitter: "wanna thank everyone at fulham for their support but also is a great feeling to be back at arsenal. have a good day."

The Ghana international featured just twice for Arsenal this season.
