Arsenal keeper Lukasz Fabianski reveals that his hard work on the training ground and little else won him a starting berth for a period last season.

Arsenal keeper Lukasz Fabianski has admitted he felt more relaxed towards the end of the season and feels that he didn't have to change much in his approach to earn a starting berth.

The Pole earned the praise of boss Arsene Wenger as he kept a clean sheet in his first game of the season, which came nine months into the campaign against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Fabianski told the club's official website: "It's all in your head. There are a lot of things [that make a good goalkeeper] but the main thing is just the head.

"Especially for a goalkeeper, you've got a lot of time to think during the game. I think it's wrong to think during the game. It's just about focus, being vocal, being ready, being switched on and stuff like that. I know that with my abilities, I will be good.

"But I don't think I'm a changed person or anything like that. I really worked hard on different aspects of my game and I put in a lot of hard work with the help of a few of the coaches that we have at the club."

Fabianski made five appearances for the Gunners last season and kept two clean sheets.
