Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher: 'Now or never for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger'

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher tells Arsene Wenger that it is now or never for him and Arsenal on the Premier League front as their rivals struggle.

Jamie Carragher has warned Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger that he will never get a better chance to end the Gunners' 12-year wait for the Premier League title if he fails this season.

The North Londoners sit level on points with Manchester City at the summit in a campaign which has seen champions Chelsea, and to a lesser extent Manchester United, struggle early on.

United are five points off the pace, while Jose Mourinho's men are 14 behind following a disastrous start to their title defence, and Carragher believes that Wenger - whose side have not gone all the way since 2004 - must capitalise.

"All their rivals have issues or distractions and this is why Wenger has to capitalise," the Liverpool legend told the Daily Mail.

"Next season, for instance, Chelsea will not be as bad as they are now. United will, inevitably, invest another £100m next summer and it is only a matter of time before the weight of their spending carries them back to winning silverware.

"Arsenal have to exploit the glimmer of light in front of them. They have been the best team in 2015, taking 67 points from their 30 Premier League matches, but being the best from January to December means nothing."

Arsenal host fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates on Sunday.
