Mikel Arteta claims that Arsenal were better than Manchester City during the draw between the two sides on Sunday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta has insisted that the draw with Manchester City proves that Arsenal can challenge for the Premier League title.

A Laurent Koscielny strike earned the Gunners a point at the Etihad Stadium and Arteta believes that consistency will help the Arsene Wenger's side challenge for honours.

The Spaniard said: "On Sunday we were better than them. If we are, then all we need is consistency.

"If we carry on until March or April when it is really tight, the spirit we have can get us something."

Arsenal are fifth in the league with nine points from their opening five games.
