Arsene Wenger is delighted with how his Arsenal charges "never gave up" as they held on for a 3-2 win at Crystal Palace on Thursday night.

Arsene Wenger has claimed that his Arsenal charges "never gave up" as they registered a 3-2 win at Crystal Palace on Thursday night.

Shkodran Mustafi opened the scoring on 25 minutes before Andros Townsend turned in Wilfried Zaha's cross from close range early in the second half.

However, Alexis Sanchez added two quickfire goals in the 63rd and 66th minutes to extend the visitors' lead, and kept their cool to see out the game following James Tomkins's late header.

"Overall it was a convincing win even though in the second half it was harder than the first," Wenger told Sky Sports News.

"We found the resources to score two great goals and from then we never gave up. You want to win the game no matter how you suffer in the end. We did that.

"We gained composure. We have come here and it is a difficult game for everyone in the league. We suffered a bit but for the biggest part of the game we played well."

Arsenal remain sixth in the Premier League table but are now just a point behind fourth-placed Liverpool.
