Arsene Wenger insists that stability is key in football as he attempts to get Arsenal back on track.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said that stability is key in football, as his future continues to be the subject of speculation.

The Frenchman has been with the north London club for 15 seasons, but has led them to their worst start in almost six decades in 2011. However, Stan Kroenke, the club's biggest shareholder, has continued to back his manager, as Wenger insists that it is vital that the club is kept stable.

"Of course stability is very important within football," the Gunners boss told reporters. "I can't say to the contrary because I have been here for such a long time.

"But what we know is that instability – unless you have unlimited financial resources – costs the club very highly."

The 61-year-old is currently the second-longest serving manager in English football, after arriving at the club in 1996.
