Arsenal handed Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey fitness boost?

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott and Welshman Aaron Ramsey will reportedly both be fit to face Southampton when the Premier League resumes this weekend.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will reportedly have both Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey available to face Southampton this weekend after the pair resumed full training.

Walcott has been out of action since mid-September with a stomach problem that required surgery, but has stepped up his rehabilitation and is thought to be fit play against his former club.

Ramsey, meanwhile, was left out of the Wales squad to face Finland last weekend as a precaution after complaining of a tight hamstring, but is back in Wenger's plans for a return to Premier League action following a self-enforced rest.

Wenger was concerned with Ramsey's heavy workload so far this season but is pleased with the midfielder's progress in training this week, putting him back in his plans for Saturday's showdown at the Emirates Stadium, according to The Mirror.

The Gunners go into a home match against the Saints three points ahead of Mauricio Pochettino's side, holding a slender advantage at the top of the table.
