Former forward Jeremie Aliadiere says that Matteo Guendouzi has not matured into a man during his two seasons at Arsenal.

Jeremie Aliadiere has claimed that Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is 'yet to grow up as a human being'.

Despite being a surprise arrival at the Emirates Stadium in 2018, Guendouzi has established himself as a regular in the centre of the pitch.

However, Aliadiere, a friend of the 21-year-old, has insisted that his French compatriot still lacks the maturity to progress further at the Gunners.

Speaking to Goal, the former striker said: "Listen, I'm a big fan of the guy. He's like my little brother and I always told him that Arsenal would be a very good team for his development as a player and as a human being.

"He took my advice and came to the club, but I just feel Matteo hasn't grown up as a human being yet. He's grown up as a player, he's matured massively as a player and every year he gets better.

"But unfortunately as a man, he hasn't grown and matured as much as I thought he would by joining Arsenal."

While Guendouzi has found himself in and out of the starting lineup since the appointment of Mikel Arteta in December, he has still made 22 starts and nine substitute outings this season.
