Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere back in two weeks

Arsene Wenger says that Jack Wilshere could be ready to play for Arsenal again by the end of the month.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere should be available for selection again in two weeks.

The midfielder has been sidelined since he suffered a hairline fracture on his left fibula during a training ground challenge with teammate Gabriel Paulista earlier this month.

There had been suggestions that Wilshere would spend up to two months out of action, but Wenger has revealed that he could be in contention for a recall by the end of August.

"We said Jack would be out for four weeks. He's in the second week now so he's on schedule," the Gunners boss told the club's official website.

An ankle injury limited Wilshere to just 23 appearances in all competitions last season.
