Arsenal injury news and return dates for Bournemouth: Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka latest

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

Arsenal return to action on Saturday evening when they face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

The Gunners make the trip to the Vitality Stadium sitting in second place in the Premier League standings having avoided defeat in their opening seven matches.

However, as well as needing to come from behind to record a win over struggling Southampton last time out, Mikel Arteta is currently dealing with a number of fitness concerns ahead of this contest.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their trip to the South coast to square off against the Cherries.

Jurrien Timber

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Bournemouth)

Jurrien Timber was forced to miss the win over Southampton with what Arteta described as "a muscle issue". However, the Spaniard also hinted that the Netherlands international was closed to making the squad for that game, an indication that he should be available here.

Ben White

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Southampton)

Ben White finds himself in a similar situation having also almost made the squad for the Southampton game. The Englishman has been nursing a knee issue and the international break could have worked in his favour with regards to a return.

Martin Odegaard

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: November 2 (vs. Newcastle United)

Martin Odegaard recently provided a positive update on his recovery from an ankle injury, the Norwegian having been able to take his foot out of a protective boot. Nevertheless, the playmaker is not expected to come back into contention for the foreseeable future.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Takehiro Tomiyasu only made his first appearance of the season against Southampton having recovered from a knee injury. However, the Japan international is said to have suffered a recurrence of the issue and now faces further time on the sidelines.

Kieran Tierney

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Kieran Tierney is still on the mend from a serious hamstring injury sustained at Euro 2024, and there have been no updates on his condition, although his inclusion in Arsenal's Champions League squad suggests that he could be back in action before the New Year.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Bournemouth)

Before the international break, Arteta suggested that Oleksandr Zinchenko should be able to return for this game having made progress in his recovery from a calf injury.

Bukayo Saka

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Leg
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Bournemouth)

Having needed to be withdrawn with a leg injury while representing England against Greece last week, Bukayo Saka subsequently pulled out the squad for the following game with Finland. However, with interim boss Lee Carsley suggesting that the winger would have been in contention to play, it appears that he should be available for the trip to the South coast.

Kai Havertz

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Bournemouth)

Knee issues were cited as the reason why Kai Havertz was unable to link up with the Germany squad during the international break. However, the feeling is that the decision taken was precautionary and the versatile attacker should feature on Saturday.

Thomas Partey

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Bournemouth)

Thomas Partey was unable to link up with Ghana during the international break due to illness. However, the midfielder - who deputised at right-back versus Southampton - should be available for selection.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Bournemouth)

Gabriel Martinelli is a far bigger doubt for the game with the Cherries courtesy of suffering a calf issue while on international duty with Brazil. Currently undergoing treatment, it remains to be seen whether any risks will be taken ahead of a busy schedule.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

While Arsenal do not have any players unavailable due to suspension, goalkeeper Neto is ineligible to face his parent club as part of the loan agreement between the sides.
