Hull City's David Meyler happy to be underdog for FA Cup final

David Meyler reveals that he is happy for Hull City to be underdogs for Saturday's FA Cup final against Arsenal.

Hull City midfielder David Meyler has revealed that he is happy for his team to be underdogs for Saturday's FA Cup final versus Arsenal.

The Gunners are the big favourites to lift the trophy at Wembley Stadium this weekend against a Hull side who are taking part in their first ever major final.

However, Meyler is pleased that he and his teammates are not facing the same kind of pressure to win the match as Arsene Wenger's players.

"I'd rather be the underdog," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "People are delighted when the underdog wins - I don't think many people want Arsenal to win.

"The pressure is all on them to win it. We have not been given a chance in the last two years - we were not favourites to go up last year and we were favourites to go down this year.

"But being the underdog isn't the worst thing in the world and we've just got to use it to our advantage. Nobody expected Wigan to win it last year but they made it difficult for Manchester City the whole game and they deserved to win it."

Meyler was on target for Hull in the FA Cup semi-finals as they earned a 5-3 win over Sheffield United.
