The visitors started brightly and had the first real chance of the game as Christian Eriksen got behind Bacary Sagna and poked a low effort at goal, but Lukasz Fabianski was there to make the stop at his near post.
The Gunners responded as Theo Walcott forced Hugo Lloris into making a good save. Serge Gnabry fed him the ball on a counter and he picked up and ran at the Spurs defence before firing a 25-yard effort at goal, but the Frenchman made the save.

Arsene Wenger's side upped the ante, and Walcott and Gnabry went close with efforts from outside the area that missed the target by inches with Lloris scrambling on both occasions.
Walcott missed a glorious chance to hand his side the lead in the 26th minute when he was put through on goal by Cazorla, but he could only fire his effort straight at Lloris.
The Gunners took the lead when Gnabry raided forward on the edge of the box and threaded the ball down the left for the unmarked Cazorla to run onto, and the Spaniard made no mistake in dispatching his shot past Lloris into the top corner.
Tottenham had a late effort in the half to try to get level, but Roberto Soldado fired an effort inches past the post from inside the box.
