Arsenal's Per Mertesacker has insisted that his side is capable of overturning a two-goal deficit against Bayern Munich in the return leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.
The defender believes that Wojciech Szczesny's red card had a significant impact on the first leg, but said that the Gunners are capable of achieving a result in Germany.
"We started really well and deserved one goal. We dropped and dropped after the red card. We kept our defensive spirit," The Mirror quotes the centre-back as saying.
"We lost here 3-1 last year against Bayern Munich and went there and beat them and we are looking forward to Munich. Why can't we get back in it?
"I think there is no doubt there was contact for the penalty. I don't know if it was a red card because the ball was a long way from Wojciech Szczesny."
Bayern will play host to Arsenal for the second leg on March 11.
