Roberto Martinez cools Champions League talk

Everton boss Roberto Martinez insists that he is not dreaming of Champions League qualification yet after beating top-four rivals Arsenal today.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has insisted that he is not yet dreaming of Champions League qualification after beating top-four rivals Arsenal today.

The Toffees moved to within one point of the fourth-placed Gunners in the Premier League table following the 3-0 victory at Goodison Park.

With Martinez's men boasting a game in hand over the North Londoners, Everton's route into Europe's elite competition is now in their own hands, but the Spaniard has called for calm and says that there is work left to do.

"We knew if got three points today then it would leave us with 63 points, but we have still got another 18 points to play for," he told reporters.

"If from here we don't pick up any points, then we won't achieve our aim. Yes, it was a great win and a great psychological boost, but the nature of this league is to be ready from game to game."

Steven Naismith and Romelu Lukaku helped the hosts into a 2-0 half-time lead, before an own goal from Mikel Arteta on the hour mark capped a comfortable win on Merseyside.
