Argentina will look to win their first Copa America title in just under thirty years this summer. However, their long road to redemption begins with a baptism of fire against two-time title winners Chile at the Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on Monday night.
La Albiceleste head coach Lionel Scaloni has worked hard to develop a side that complements the qualities of star-man Lionel Messi, instead of one that purely relies on the Barcelona megastar.
Between the sticks, Scaloni tends to utilise Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez, who has excelled at the Birmingham club since his move from Arsenal last summer.
With Juan Foyth not making the cut in the end for La Albiceleste, Scaloni is executed to start River Plate right-back Gonzalo Montiel, while Sevilla's hugely impressive Marcos Acuna is likely to start at left-back.
Benfica veteran Nicolas Otamendi will command the defence and could be partnered by Cristian Romero.
Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Giovani Lo Celso is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain man Leandro Paredes in midfield, while Udinese's Rodrigo De Paul could also play a part there.
Upfront, Scaloni tends to prefer the nascent determination of Lautaro Martinez to Sergio Aguero, and the striker could be flanked by Messi and Angel Di Maria.
Argentina possible starting lineup: E Martinez; Montiel, Romero, Otamendi, Acuna; Lo Celso, Paredes, De Paul; Messi, L Martinez, Di Maria
