AC Milan director Paolo Maldini has revealed that the club are in discussions with Zlatan Ibrahimovic over a contract extension.
The 40-year-old continues to make the net ripple for the Rossoneri in his golden years and has registered eight strikes and two assists in 15 Serie A appearances this season.
Ibrahimovic's existing terms at San Siro are due to expire this summer, but Maldini has confirmed that the Sweden international could yet stay on until 2023.
"We're discussing with Zlatan. His plan is to continue for another season but Ibrahimovic will never be a problem for us - it's up to him," Maldini told DAZN.
Ibrahimovic has found the back of the net 36 times in 66 appearances during his second spell with the Rossoneri but missed Saturday's Derby della Madonnina win over former club Inter Milan due to Achilles problems.
In the Swede's absence, Olivier Giroud struck twice in three minutes to propel Stefano Pioli's men to a 2-1 win after Ivan Perisic's opener, as Theo Hernandez saw red in the dying embers for AC Milan.
