Reports suggest that AC Milan have agreed to sell Ignazio Abate to Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg.

Zenit St. Petersburg have reportedly agreed a fee with AC Milan for full-back Ignazio Abate.

The Russian champions are believed to have tabled a bid of around £8m for the Italian international at the beginning of the transfer window.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two parties have now settled on a fee after the Rossoneri told Zenit to up their offer.

All that is left is to agree personal terms, with the same newspaper reporting that Abate is due to link up with Luciano Spalletti's squad.

The 26-year-old, who has won seven caps for his country, has appeared in 12 of Milan's 21 Serie A games this season.
