AC Milan midfield duo Kevin Prince Boateng and Riccardo Montolivo suffer injuries in the match against Bologna that could rule them out for a number of weeks.

AC Milan have confirmed that they will be without two key midfield players for a few weeks through injury.

Kevin Prince Boateng and Riccardo Montolivo will face a spell on the sidelines after picking up problems in the 3-1 win against Bologna last weekend.

Boateng is expected to be out for a fortnight after undergoing surgery on a fracture to his right hand.

Montolivo could be out for three weeks after damaging a muscle in his right thigh.

Milan continue their Serie A campaign at home to Atalanta on Sunday, September 16.
