Kaka meets AC Milan ultras

AC Milan veterans Kaka and Christian Abbiati hold crisis talks with protesting ultras following last night's 1-1 draw with Genoa.

AC Milan midfielder Kaka was forced to help diffuse a standoff with fans at the San Siro last night after Rossoneri ultras blocked exits to the stadium in protest against a poor run of recent results.

Massimiliano Allegri's side were unable to break down a Genoa side forced to play the entire second half with 10 men in a 1-1 draw yesterday, leading to Milan supporters launching an angry protest after the full-time whistle.

More than an hour after the match Milan players were still unable to leave the San Siro with exits blocked by more than 300 ultras and police, which lead to Kaka and Christian Abbiati meeting fans for a face-to-face discussion.

The Brazilian reportedly pledged that his side would improve their efforts in a bid to climb up the table in a conversation that eventually led to exits being opened just after midnight.

Allegri's position as Milan coach is still under intense scrutiny thanks to last night's result, with the Rossoneri languishing in mid-table after winning three of their 13 games in Serie A.
