M'Baye Niang to undergo ankle surgery after car crash

AC Milan striker M'Baye Niang will miss the remainder of the season as he needs surgery on the ankle injury he sustained in a car crash.

AC Milan striker M'Baye Niang has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury.

The 21-year-old was involved in a car crash last month that damaged his ankle ligaments, and Milan have now confirmed that he will require surgery.

The Frenchman lost control of his car in the early hours of Sunday, February 28 due to heavy rain in Milan, just hours after playing in the club's 1-0 win over Torino at San Siro.

Niang will undergo the operation on Friday and is not expected to feature again this season.

The youngster has scored eight goals in 20 appearances in all competitions for Milan this term.
