Millie Fowler, Millie Haffety finish 3m springboard final in ninth place

Millie Fowler and Millie Haffety let slip a promising start to finish ninth in the women's 3m synchronised springboard diving event in Baku.

Great Britain diving duo Millie Fowler and Millie Haffety have finished ninth in the women's 3m synchronised springboard event.

The pair scored highly for their second dive of the afternoon, recording three nines from the judges, but a disappointing fourth round ultimately cost them a place on the podium.

Louisa Stawczynski, a silver medallist in the women's 1m springboard, and Saskia Oettinghaus came out on top for Germany with a total score of 284.07.

Russian Federation's Elena Chernykh and Maria Polykova took silver at the Baku Aquatics Centre, while bronze was secured by Marharita Dzhusova and Diana Shelestuyk of the Ukraine.

Team GB have another shot at glory later this evening when Jordan Houlden and James Heatly compete in the men's 3m diving final.
