Gold-medal winning diver Maria Polykova has said that winning the women's 1m springboard at the European Games is a "more important victory" than her Junior European Championships success.
The Russian's first gold as a senior comes just two years after she was crowned European champion in the 3m synchro at the Junior Championships in Poznan.
The 18-year-old told reporters: "I have already won the European Championships but I think this is even better for me, a more important victory because it's my first major European win at senior level."
Polykova was almost 30 points ahead of her nearest rival in Baku, securing her country's 27th medal of the Games.
