Tom Daley dismisses retirement claims

Team England's Tom Daley rejects claims that he is to retire from diving at the end of the Commonwealth Games.

Tom Daley has targeted a place at the 2016 Olympic Games after dismissing claims that he is to retire from diving.

Reports emerged yesterday suggesting that the 21-year-old was going to call time on his career following the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

However, Daley has moved to quash rumours that his best days are already behind him, telling reporters: "When I read that I was like - oh really?

"It was a bit of a shock, but I can reassure everyone I am not retiring. Glasgow now is my biggest aim, then I have the European Championships later on this year, but Rio 2016 is my main aim."

The Team England diver missed out on a medal at the World Cup recently in Shanghai.
