British cyclist Steven Burke breaks collarbone in crash at training camp

Britain's Steven Burke is a doubt for the Track World Championships in February after breaking his collarbone in a crash at a training camp in Majorca.

Great Britain's Steven Burke has broken his collarbone in a crash while at a training camp in Majorca.

The 26-year-old is now a doubt for the Track World Championships, but Burke is hopeful that he will return to full fitness in time for the competition, which begins on February 18 in Paris.

"I'm disappointed but I've been in the gym today," BBC Sport quotes Burke as saying. "I aim to be back on the track as soon as possible so that I can resume training for the World Championships."

Burke and his teammate Owain Doull, who suffered minor injuries in the same crash, were named in Sir Bradley Wiggins's newly formed cycling team last week.
