Jolanda Neff beats Switzerland teammate to mountain bike gold

Switzerland's Jolanda Neff finishes two minutes ahead of teammate Kathrin Stirnemann to win gold in the women's mountain bike event at the European Games.

Under-23 world champion Jolanda Neff has secured the first gold medal at the European Games in Baku with victory in the women's mountain bike race.

The 22-year-old finished over two minutes clear of the field, having led much of the event after an early break from the pack.

Neff's Switzerland teammate Kathrin Stirnemann clinched the silver, just finishing ahead of Poland's Maja Wloszczowska, who completed the podium.

The Swiss riders dominated the event, with Linda Indergand finishing fifth, just behind Eva Lechner of Italy.
