Team GB runner Lynsey Sharp wins silver in the European Championships women's 800m final after clocking a personal-best time in Zurich.

Team GB runner Lynsey Sharp has won silver in the women's 800m final at the European Championships.

The Scottish athlete led for much of the race, and was up against Maryna Arzamasova towards the final stage.

On the home straight, however, the 24-year-old was overtaken by her Belarusian rival, who claimed gold right at the death.

Sharp, who recorded a personal-best time of 1:58.80, is now eighth in the UK all-time list.

Poland's Joanna Jozwik took bronze, while British teenager Jess Judd finished in seventh place.
