Laura Trott confident of challenging for two gold medals

Laura Trott insists that she is in good shape to challenge for two gold medals at the World Track Championships in Paris.

Laura Trott has claimed that her target is to take two gold medals away from the Track World Championships in Paris.

The double Olympic champion believes that her form in training means that she is in good shape to challenge in both the omnium and team pursuit as the 22-year-old prepares for the meet, which begins on Wednesday.

"I'm pretty confident with the way my training has been going so I'm hoping for the best," Trott told BBC Sport.

"You've got to set your stall out and have ambitious targets. I'd be happy to medal but my aim is to win two golds."

Trott claimed gold with her teammates in the team pursuit at the 2014 World Championship, but was forced to settle for silver in the omnium.

Britain finished fourth in the medal table behind Germany, France and Australia in Colombia last year.
