New Zealand's Shane Archbold wins scratch race gold

Shane Archbold wins the men's 20km scratch race to take gold for New Zealand on Sunday.

New Zealand's Shane Archbold has taken gold in the men's 20km scratch race at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, squeezing out Glenn O'Shea of Australia.

Archbold was given plenty of support by his already lapped teammate Thomas Scully to finish the race ahead of the other three cyclist who were still in the race by the closing stages.

Remi Pelletier of Canada did not have enough in his legs to make a push for the win and had to settle for bronze, with Isle Of Man's Mark Christian the only rider not to be lapped who did not earn a medal.
