Team England rider Jason Kenny has admitted that it was a "tough" day for him at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome today.
Having scraped through to the quarter-finals via the repechage on day one, Kenny began proceedings with a tricky sprint against the much-fancied Australian Matthew Glaetzer.
He overcame that test and made it all the way to the final, however, where he lost to New Zealand's Sam Webster in his eighth race of the afternoon to claim silver.
"All the way from the quarter-finals, today has been a really tough day. There have not been any easy rides," Kenny told reporters.
"It's been a long sprint, and the gaps of 10-15 minutes between rides, which isn't a lot when you've had a maximum effort like that - today we've had eight rides with very little recovery - so yeah it was a really tough day.
"But you've got to remember that, by the time you've got to the final, everyone has got that, so it evens it out a little bit."
Kenny also won a silver in the team sprint event yesterday.
