Darren Sammy expects to West Indies to bounce back from a heavy defeat to Australia in the opening contest in their five-match series.

Darren Sammy has said that he expects the West Indies to quickly get over today's heavy loss to Australia.

The tourists were bowled out for 70 in their first one-day international in Perth, allowing Australia to win the match with 40 overs to spare.

The Windies captain told Sky Sports News: "We have to bounce back and it is just the first game of a five-match series. It is just a one-off game. We will come back on Sunday and look to execute better.

"We know we have the ability and that's what I will tell the boys. Yes, it's going to be hard to wipe what happened off the memory. But we've had great games against them and we'll think about the positives.

"We need to dust ourselves off and believe we can be successful against them."

Sammy was the West Indies' top scoring batsman, making 16.
