Australia beat West Indies by nine wickets in the first one-day international in Perth after bowling the tourists out for just 71.

Mitchell Starc took 5-20 as Australia recorded an emphatic nine-wicket victory over the West Indies in Perth.

Australia's pace bowlers were in blistering form and it was Starc who decimated the top order to reduce West Indies to 28-6.

Clint McKay got in on the act to record figures of 3-10 as West Indies were bowled out in 23.5 overs for just 71 runs.

Australia wasted no time in securing what was seemingly an effortless win inside 10 overs as Glenn Maxwell sent the ball to all corners of the Perth outfield with an unbeaten 51 off 35 balls to earn his side an early lead in the series.
